How Much Does Supervised In-The-Community Contact Cost? image of scrabble tiles on green background.

Many separated parents ask this exact question before they book a session: how much does supervised child contact cost? At Family Mediation Services, we set clear, transparent fees so families know exactly what to expect before contact begins. This guide breaks down our current pricing structure and explains what supervised contact with children involves.

What Does Supervised Contact With Children Involve?

Supervised contact allows a parent to spend time with their child while a trained professional observes the session. Our accredited mediator team and independent contact supervisors manage every referral carefully, so both parents and the court can trust the process. Because every family’s situation differs, we offer several contact options, including private sessions, local authority referrals, and video contact.

Our Current Fees

We set out our fees clearly below, so you can compare each service and plan your budget with confidence. If you also want a written report of observations alongside private supervised contact, an additional £25 applies.

Service Cost
Referral fee (administration and risk assessment) £30
Supervised contact, private – one supervisor, per hour £65ph
Supervised contact, private – two supervisors, per hour £120ph
Supervised contact, local authority – one supervisor, per hour £120ph
Supervised contact, local authority – two supervisors, per hour £180ph
Report of observations (private, optional add-on) £25
Video supervised contact, up to 1 hour £25
Contact supervision report fee (per supervisor, per session, for court) £25
Additional written report (10 working days after payment) £50–£250
Travel fee (over 45 mins outside Southwark or Croydon), per 45 mins each way £20pp

Sometimes courts or solicitors request additional written reports. Our qualified mediator team can prepare these, though the exact fee depends on complexity, and we need ten working days after payment to complete this work. Additionally, if your contact session takes place more than 45 minutes outside the Peckham or Norwood area, we add the travel fee shown above for each 45-minute period, each way.

Our Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change, so our cancellation policy stays fair and straightforward. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, we charge the full fee, minus the report fee. However, if you cancel between 24 and 48 hours beforehand, we only charge 50% of the fee. You will not pay anything if you give us 48 hours’ notice or more. All cancellations must reach us by email.

Why Choose Our Team?

Every session with our organisation follows strict safeguarding standards. Our trained family mediators and contact supervisors prioritise the child’s welfare above all else, and they document every session accurately. Consequently, families and courts can rely on our reports during ongoing proceedings. Additionally, because we offer flexible options, from video calls to two-supervisor sessions, every family finds an arrangement that fits their circumstances.
